💡 Good to know
- Mutual fund returns are not guaranteed. Equity funds have averaged 10% to 12% a year over long periods, but can fall in any single year.
- Tax: equity fund gains over ₹1.25 lakh a year are taxed at 12.5% if held over 1 year, and 20% if sold within 1 year.
- Starting early matters more than the amount: time does most of the work.
Estimate only: actual returns vary. Interest compounds monthly for SIP, yearly for lumpsum and quarterly for FD. 🔒 Everything stays on your device.

Questions people ask
How is SIP return calculated?+
Maturity = P × [((1 + i)^n − 1) ÷ i] × (1 + i), where P is the monthly SIP, i the monthly return (yearly return ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n the number of months. Example: ₹10,000 a month at 12% for 10 years grows to about ₹23.2 lakh.
SIP or FD: which is better?+
An FD gives a fixed, safe return (about 6% to 7.5%), good for money you need within 3 years. Equity SIPs have historically given more over 5+ years, but returns are not guaranteed and can go down.
What is a step-up SIP?+
You raise your SIP by a fixed percentage every year, for example 10% when your salary goes up. It can grow your final amount a lot compared with a flat SIP.
